As an Informed Navigator, SB2 fosters and facilitates international opportunities and de-risks the international experience for established and emerging global companies. We do this by engaging targeted Innovation Ecosystems and Intelligent Communities of Practice where sector synergies and niche market opportunities are identified. Our strengths come from recognising that commercialisation and going global is complex and our deep understanding of the impacts that the converging forces of Open Innovation and Economic Globalisation have on organisations and countries alike.
Our unique 'deliver or go home' business model expedites the process of market entry and expansion by providing on the ground, in-market facilities and services; this accelerates company success in our target markets. We call these the SB2 Expressway Programmes. These Programmes focus on extending and complementing ongoing Government programmes and investment.
The value of our Informed Navigation approach includes:
o Targetingtherightknowledgeandinsight to develop and unleash a finely-tuned business model and strategic options
o Providing a deep, forensicanalysisof internal and external contacts and opportunities that would not otherwise be found
o Mapping a highly qualified valuenetworkof synergistic business partners, development opportunities and funding
o Providing in-market support, adviceandengagement - going past providing introductions to complement and extend Government programmes
o Sharingrisksandrewards, aligning our commercial interests with yours to co-create accelerated and sustainable success
Established formally in 2008 as an International Multi-Sector Partnership, we have developed and strategically positioned appropriate Business Professionals, Advisors, Resources and Government Representatives to ensure in-market support and a safe base for our mutual Clients.
Our current focus is on economic activity between New Zealand and Canada - each being a strategic gateway into other markets: New Zealand and surrounding Asia Pacific Region, as well as South Asia and China through New Zealand's Free Trade Agreement with that country and Canada for entry into North America.
"When I think about how SB2 operates its services, I use the analogy of a personalized guided tour, but for business. If you are serious about being introduced into Canada through the Waterloo Region's most influential business organizations and key individuals, and you have limited time, then this is the fastest and most cost-effective service that is going to advance your business requirements. The businesses we were introduced to are all trustworthy and very supportive.
We believe SB2 has reduced our timeframe for entering the market by at least 12 months, and saved us a lot of painstaking work.It is definitely more effective than doing it yourself."
AndrewBatten, Managing Director, High Profile Solutions, Auckland
"We were introduced to a range of people involved in various aspects of the region's economic development and commercial sectors of the community. This included both local and regional government agencies, community business development personal, universities and researchers involved in complimentary areas, bio-composite industry representatives, manufacturers and commercial bodies together with legal and accounting professionals to name a few.
...we were both truly overwhelmed by not only the calibre of the people we met, but also the genuine interest people had in meeting with us and engaging in preliminary discussion. The contacts and network established have already resulted in an invitation for our company to participate in a further research collaboration...
SB2 demonstrated a very professional approach to co-ordinating the entire visit. The connections made with the assistance of SB2 during our visit leave us in no doubt that the Technology Triangle would be an easy conduit for our company into the North American market..."

SB2's initial safe landing gateway in Canada for the delivery of its Expressway Programmes, is based around the Waterloo-Guelph Region in South Western Ontario, which includes Canada's Technology Triangle. We are also in the process of establishing our next safe landing gateway in Vancouver.
